Birds 04:53
When I awake in the morning I hear the birds singing, "What a time to look alive" as the sunlight Shines inside my unopened eyes When I rise up from my twin size Dig through that closet for something nice A little sigh then it's all alright And when it's time I depart Ahhhhh But when I step into that old blue four door I know, I know I know tomorrow will be just the same as that which came before Oh my lord! When I head out on the highway I make close calls but I claim my lane And when it's right I go right on my way I do some things and I bring home some pay When I was making a living A was just waiting for what a time To look alive but I seem to've died In the process of waiting for life Ahhhhh But as a lay down in my twin size graveside I hope, I hope I hope the morning will bring just the thing I couldn't see at night Not just light! Ahhhhh It goes on and on And the work it's never done It's not like I forgot that, no It goes on and on It's on and on and on It goes on and on and on It's on and on and on It goes on and on and on It's on and on and on And on and on and on

I have seen that everything is good And everything's evil as well So how could you tell the living from dying The wrong from the righting How could you tell? There was a man who was taking great steps To evade every thought of such terrible shame And there was a bird who flew every which way Unaware of his thoughts but he lived just the same Is it not near enough to be glad of the where And the what, when the why can't be had? (2x's) Ladadaaaaa, Ladadaaaaa Ladadaaaaa, Ladadaaaaa (4x's) I didn't know any words worth the saying So I sat with both my arms crossed I heard a sound and I think they were praying Sending up well meaning up for the lost Is it not near enough to be glad of the where And the what, when the why can't be had? It is not near enough to be glad of the where And the what, when the why can't be had! when the why can't be had when the why can't be had when the why can't be had Mmmmmhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

True Be True 03:34
I try to be me I try to be something I tried to be something else That was outside my own self You try to act right You try to act like you try You try to act right on time Just like there's need to be nice Just like there's need to be nice There is something good There are words such as should Something is for sure What's that something for? What's that something for? We try to be good We try to act like we should We start to cry when it's wrong That's why we sing any song That's why we sing every song I said it's worthless I felt so certain of it too I said it's nothingness I used the truth to prove nothing's true I used the truth & I was through I used the truth to prove nothing's true I used the truth & I was through

Reasoning 04:12
The only good opinions Are the ones I'd never say For different indecisions In friends and in my brain All the best of reasons Should make for ease of mind But I could not rest I could not be A person satisfied There are, plenty reasons To believe, it should be so Picturesque just like someone Wrote a script And taught you to deliver it Like a pro And so, you did I searched for some solutions For the issues which I found The reason runs in circles And it runs right back around To know is to observe An observation not assumed I presume that my beginning is The opposite of proof Ways with words, sound assertive We have heard, and we have learned it Who could say, it's sure and certain That's the way, to get you hurting In your head, and it goes Down to your hands Come down from that mountain You built with your own hands It is so beautiful But you are still a man And I am just a pile of dust With speculation created for what I wish, I knew, but I, do not We had, it down, but I forgot I forgot I forgot, I messed it up Ways with words sound assertive We have heard, and we learned it Who could say, it's sure and certain That's the way, to get your hurting In your head, and it goes Down to your hands But I did not care And I do not understand Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Just Because 04:00
Just because it's written doesn't mean it's in the book Just because it's living doesn't mean it aint forsook And just because it's humming from a string It doesn't mean that it's a song Just because it's hurting doesn't mean it's got no joy Just because it's working doesn't mean it's still employed And just because it's quiet Doesn't mean that there are words we need to say Just because I love you doesn't mean you'll follow suit But if you'd be so inclined to do likewise, I'll give all my love to you Just because it's drifting doesn't mean it's all at sea Just because it's bending doesn't mean it's on its knees And just because it's still as frozen ice upon the pond Doesn't mean there's anything to stop its up and moving on Just because it's lonely doesn't mean it's all alone Just because it's roamin' doesn't mean it's got no home And just because it's right next to the dirt It doesn't mean it's not the sky Oh and just because there's clouds above your head Doesn't mean the sun don't shine Just because I love you doesn't mean you'll follow suit But if you'd be so inclined to do likewise, I'll give all my love to you Just because it's waiting doesn't mean that it won't move Just because it's rhythm doesn't mean it's got the blues Oh and just because it's ending Doesn't mean that something new won't soon commence And just because it's just begun it doesn't mean I'm not convinced All I want Is something to hold closely But if no you won't Then we'll be satisfied We'll be satisfied

The Patient 03:17
They painted blue skies on the wall To distract from what was going on While administering anesthesia unto me They waited patiently until Both my blinking eyes were still Then they did what they had gone to school for fifteen years to do And I was grateful that they knew the things they know But I've yet to understand What puts this life into a soul I left that room with one less appendix Than I had when I entered in it I was glad I didn't need it anyway And when my friends came by to visit They knew this was far from serious But they also knew it's good to feel at home And I was grateful that they knew the things they know But I've yet to understand What puts this life into a soul All one could want is to be breathing in the air To believe in how it's there To be certain something's right Am I right Am I right Am I right? I was grateful that they knew the things they know But I've yet to understand What puts this life into a soul I was sure grateful that they knew the things they know But I have not yet discerned What turned the light on in my soul

Made Up Mind 05:14
Oh my dear We started out so sincere And eager to please with acts of words of rhyme Every look Could fill up the thickest book And all of the words mistook The meanings they'd convey Now it's like The distance from dark to light Your fingers are closed alright You keep them all your own Drown it out Turn it down The reason runs around in circles Oh what good then could it be Other than deceiving me? Drown the doubt with the doubt That any could be worth the trouble No, is that what you want? Circumvent Callous and cold and content Evading the laws that sent Us all so far away A made up mind Is something that's hard to find If ever I'm true and right I'll claim one for my own, my own, my own Which is worse Ambivalence or a hearse One is for certain and The other runs away away, away, away, away, away, away, away Drown it out Turn it down The reason runs around in circles Oh what good then could it be Other than deceiving me? Drown the doubt with the doubt That any could be worth the trouble No, is that what you want? All this time I keep on seeking a made up mind Everybody tells you what's true and right Decide choose sides it's not so hard To make it up and try ohhhhhhhh All your life You do it again and again and you try You do it again then die And everything good gets forgot What's the use Of saying it's sure and true To only return to the dirt and the dust And you're done It's enough to get by? Drown it out Turn it down The reason runs around in circles Oh what good then could it be Other than deceiving me Drown the doubt with the doubt That any could be worth the trouble No, is that what you want? No, that's not what you want. Drown it out Turn it down The reason runs around in circles Oh what good then could it be Other than deceiving me Drown the doubt with the doubt That any could be worth the trouble No, that's not what you want.

What is light But lack of not knowing? And I grew eyes To describe what was showing I dare not take it all in For it could never be meant to be Held in a hand Not composed Of particles which one could hold But sure as day it shines Sends interpretations to the eyes And we bear witness beholden to presences Never otherwise would be known I can't help taking it in It is without and within I can't obtain can't explain it but I cannot hate it It's everywhere all around It was above and abounding The brightness went right through our eyelids (2x's) Don't look away Don't hide your face It's chasing it's displacing dark And if no longer could eyes observe I'm certain it would begin to be heard I'd hear it shine I taste the bright upon my tongue I hear it sung No words or form But radiant warm I feel it how it pours How it pours! What is the light that I see When I wake in morning? Is it a physical thing? You see it shoot right through me I am a time and a space I am earth and water And when I'm gone from this place It's shining that much farther What is the light that I see When I wake in morning? It is a physical thing! You see it shoot right through me I am a time and a space I am earth and water And when I'm gone from this place It's shining that much farther
